Secure Data Destruction
Deleting files or formatting a drive does not remove the data underneath. TrueByte Tech permanently destroys data on hard drives, SSDs and mobile devices using software sanitization or physical destruction, and documents every device so you can prove it was handled correctly.

Overview
What is data destruction?
Data destruction makes information on a storage device permanently unreadable. Depending on the device and your policy, that means overwriting it with specialized software, cryptographically erasing it, or physically shredding or crushing the drive.
Our wiping process follows the NIST SP 800-88 media sanitization guidelines, and each sanitized device is verified before it is reused, resold or recycled.

Best practices
Data destruction best practices
A simple checklist your team can use — whether or not you work with us.
- 1 Treat every drive, SSD, phone and USB stick as if it holds sensitive data.
- 2 Choose the right method for the media: SSDs need different handling than spinning hard drives.
- 3 Keep devices secured and tracked from the moment they are retired until data is destroyed.
- 4 Verify sanitization and keep a certificate tied to each serial number.
- 5 Write a retention policy so data is destroyed on schedule, not forgotten in a storage room.

Who we serve
Trusted across industries
No. Formatting removes the file index but leaves most data recoverable with free tools. Proper sanitization overwrites or destroys the data itself.
Wiping makes data unrecoverable while keeping the drive usable, so it can be reused or resold. Shredding physically destroys the drive. We recommend shredding for failed drives or when your policy requires it.
Yes. You receive a certificate listing each device by serial number with the method used.
